Reiki

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive complementary therapy that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. The word Reiki is derived from two Japanese words: Rei, meaning “universal,” and Ki, meaning “life energy.” Reiki is based on the concept that this life energy flows through all living things and that supporting its flow may encourage relaxation and a sense of wellbeing.

During a Reiki treatment, I place my hands lightly on or just above specific areas of the body in a series of positions. The treatment is performed fully clothed in a calm, peaceful environment and is designed to promote deep relaxation. Hand positions can always be adapted to suit your comfort and personal preferences.

Many people choose Reiki to help them manage the physical and emotional effects of everyday life. Clients commonly report feeling deeply relaxed, calmer and better able to cope with stress following a session.

Reiki may help to:

  • Promote deep relaxation.
  • Support emotional wellbeing.
  • Reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.
  • Encourage restful sleep.
  • Support relaxation alongside conventional healthcare.
  • Provide time for rest, reflection and self-care.

Each appointment begins with a consultation to discuss your health, wellbeing and treatment goals. This allows the session to be tailored to your individual needs while ensuring Reiki is appropriate for you.

Whether you are looking to reduce stress, restore balance or simply take time to pause and recharge, Reiki offers a gentle opportunity to support your overall wellbeing.

Distance Reiki

Distance Reiki allows you to receive a relaxing Reiki session from the comfort of your own home. Simply find a quiet space, sit or lie comfortably, and take time to relax while I send Reiki energy at our agreed appointment time.

Many people find Distance Reiki deeply calming and restorative, making it an ideal option if you're unable to attend in person or prefer to remain in the comfort of your own surroundings.
